By definition, a spear is a jab with the toe of the stick. Just because it wasn't a severe spear doesn't change the fact that it was in fact a spear

Yeah, don't really care what the rule/definition says....he poked him with his stick. You know what a spear is, I know what a spear is and that was not a spear. Unless you are a ref, then this is absolutely what you think a spear is because the black and white words say so.
Put it this way, when you see the headline "Tkachuk to have Hearing for Spear on Martin", is this situation what you think of when you go to watch the video? Of course not, the word "spear" inherently sounds brutal. This is what I am getting at. You don't have to agree with me, might just be an old guy thing.
