Hathaway was given extra shifts at the end of the game with johnny and Monny.
What confused me while it was happening was that Ferland was the odd man out but had done nothing to deserve to miss a shift. He’s been a beast.. so why opt for Hathaway over Ferland?

It’s this kind of confusing coaching that I’m tired of.. it wasn’t the personnel that was the issue, it was the lack of ability to breakdown the weak defence of Philly and get bodies to the net to make life difficult for Elliott. That is a system issue. Not a players responsibility to figure out on their own.

Like against Edmonton, the change of the system to activate the D but to have forward defensive support from the weak side came way too late but showed that a minor adjustment was all that needed to happen.
The frustration lies in that a proper coaching team would have scouted that need to activate the D with the weak side forward holding back to support the stay at home D to avoid odd man rushes and... 3 breakaways in 2 mins.

Also on that note, why was their no timeout taken to remind guys of their responsibility and to calm everyone down? Is it because GG didn’t want to have to talk to his players and address the system that broke down or is it that there is really no system to begin with?
