The defense is soft, and can't defend their slot. Last night when Flames had similar chances, the Flyers defense would tie down their sticks, or block the shots. They were much better at defending the slot. I believe this is what has been the case all season long.

When this defence makes a mistake, it's a huge mistake that almost always ends up in the back of the net. It's starting to look like the only reason why haven't started as poorly this season as last season is because Smith has been stopping shots that Elliott wasn't able to.
