We’re simply not very loyal fans anymore. It’s part of modern fandom. It’s all about being hyper-critical and skewing towards the negative, rather than the positive and hoping for better days ahead while being unwilling to take the lumps along the way.

I know that when Feterik bought the Stampeders and made his son the starting QB, I went from being a regular fan at McMahon, to not even caring that much about the CFL in general.
I find it hard to cheer for the Blue Jays sometimes, because the owner is Rogers, who as a corporation doesn't inspire any loyalty.
With Hotchkiss gone and Murray Edwards in (when not escaping to Europe to avoid taxes), I do find myself having trouble bridging the gap when the team is underperforming.
Maybe its that I'm older now, but I can't disconnect the owner from the product like I used to be able to do. I'm a lot less likely to give the benefit of the doubt, and have a little patience.
