Backlund should definitely be wearing the A. Brouwer got that handed to him before he even played a single game as a Flame. What does he do that exactly that earns him that recognition?
Doesn't contribute on the ice, doesn't lead by example, barely hits, barely fights, doesn't provide energy, contributes in the community? Nope, talks to media much, nope. So seriously what does he actually bring? Do guys even listen to him in the room if he can't back up his talk on ice? Backlund would be my first choice but my second would be Hamonic. The guy goes to battle for his team mates, he checks hard, he's a good team guy and a great character off the ice. The media seems to love the guy too, and he seems to never turn them away. Basically 3 more years of Brouwer unless we buy him out. Earned never given? Certainly not the case with him.
