Buckeyes had two losses including an embarrassing loss to a mediocre team. Bama lost to a top 10 team. I don't see how the regular season means less since the team with the better regular season made it through.
Winning a conference doesn't mean a whole ton if the road to get there wasn't very difficult.
Bama or Ohio State is a toss up. It took away none of the drama and isn't any sort of an indication that an undeserving team got in.

The SEC was not some juggernaut as it has been in some years past. Getting into what ifs and could of beens also just weakens any argument. Every decent team in the country can do that.
And yes it does make the regular season mean less. In fact why even bother with conference championships anymore when they mean sweet FA?
