Also why not slot Stone in Versteeg’s spot. Both RH. Versteeg always took slapshots or slap passes from that spot anyways, Stone would be much better suited for that given that he actually has a good shot.
On D, clearly the system isn’t working. The breakout is just terrible. Why not get Gio and Brodie back together and tweak the system so that it doesn’t need LH/RH d pairs come hell or high water. Brodie is useless on LD, for whatever reason. See if there’s any chemistry between Hamilton and Hamonic. At this point what do you have to lose? It can’t get any worse back there.
Im starting to really question the personnel and system decisions being made. GG seems like a coach that has his system and puts players into it no matter what. Good coaches design systems around the players they have. You can’t just go from team to team with the same system and expect it to work.

Because something something, advanced stats, spreadsheet etc say that he is about to break out. And why are we so short sided and focusing on one game when getting a 4th liner some confidence will improve the team to a point of greatness. Because you know, a 4th liner's success is that important to the overall team
This is the issue with GG, he is so out of touch with the overall picture. He'd rather focus on little thing like getting a 4th liner going or having guys shoot from the "proper" side. Results be damned. It's how hockey should be played according to his manual.
They can't get rid of GG fast enough. Guy is lost and seems to lack any authority or confidence behind the bench. Looks like Eakins did, guy that thinks highly of himself when the fact is that the job is so above his head. The players see it.
