The Flames are built to win this year. They have cheap players on their 3rd line (the entire line, even if Jagr gets his bonuses comes in under 6 million, or about 8 percent of cap).
Why would a non-championship level team over the next 3 years be good enough to convince Hamonic to stay after that? This is a team that has 5 picks in the first 3 rounds over the next 3 years. This is a team that has given up 2 firsts and 4 seconds to get 2 dmen and you think the time they want to compete is when one of those dmen is already a UFA and the other one only has one year left on his contract? If that is the "plan" BT should be fired on the spot.
