The D zone is a mess. Once pressured it's certain the opposition gets a grade A chance. They sucked so bad tonight it's completely unwatchable. Figure it out. It's just incredible the highs and lows the team can go through.

It seems to me under GG the Flames D back in way too far and complety concede the blue line on every rush. Which would be fine if the forwards defended the blue line at all, but they don't. We see this magnified in the PK where we are embarasingly passive, and just dare teams to make good plays to score.
Once we get hemmed in our forwards never come back deep enough, and our D men have two options. They can skate the puck out or fire it up he boards. This is predictable and other teams easily adjust to counter it.
The Flames are 23rd in goals allowed, 26th in shots allowed and 29th on the PK. In what universe is this not a condemnation of the defensive system GG is shovelling.
