I'll take it one step further and say I have a profound amount of respect and admiration for what Russia has contributed to the arts, philosophy and science throughout history. That's why I find modern day Russia and the "New Russians" to be such a tragedy. The predominant culture they're choosing to adopt and export is trash in comparison to what they've produced in the past.
