I think it is true the Calgary D is not performing to the level we had expected. The Nashville D is still a better unit from 1-4, we may have an advantage at the 5 spot though. Here is how i see it.

Roman Josi - #1 Dman
Subban - #1 Dman
Ekholm - #2 Dman
Ellis - #2-#3 Dman

Gio - #1 Dman
Hamilton - #2 Being he is not an overall threat and hasnt show he can be the straw that stirs, I strongly believe he is potential 1 but is a #2 for now. Its Gio that brings his level of play up. Just as Gio did with Brodie.
Brodie - Solid #2-3 Dman
Hamonic - More of a #4 dman at this point, potential to get back to a solid #3, but hasnt shown that this or the last few seasons.

Predators top 4 is definitely better than the Flames. However the Flames still need to step it up.
