As another poster pointed out, the Russian public's attitude towards gays and is not so different than the attitudes in Canada 30 or 40 years ago - or the attitudes held by the majority of Trump supporters today (35-40% of the population apparently). Were/are those societies 'garbage'?

And again, as pointed out by several posters now, Canada continues to progress to a point where less and less people believe these things, whereas Russia is heading in the opposite direction, but please, enlighten us with more of your compelling anecdotal evidence and false equivalencies.
