I agree - no rentals. That said, Simmonds is signed for next year so not truly a rental. I'd much rather he was acquired now than at the deadline though, when the price will be stupid. In other words "it has to happen now to make sense".
Thing is - if you accept Ferland is now a fixture on the top line, the second line looks pretty good, I guess you are spending assets on a guy to take Bennett off of the third line. Bennett would be one of the assets I guess, but it'd be Bennett+ IMO. It seems like a pretty steep price to pay for 1.5 years of Simmonds.
