I moved to Van from Calgary a year ago. It's funny, I think the downsides of each city weather-wise are exaggerated by each other. It's not as cold in Calgary as people in Van tend to think. It's not as rainy here as Calgarians say.
I go back and forth on it. It's nice I can go through most of winter with a light coat and an umbrella. I do miss the snow and the sun sometimes though. March-November though, there aren't many better cities in the world.
It's very international, almost everyone I know is from a different country. All them think this is the best place in the world. Stupid expensive though. It has to come to a head sometime. When people can't afford to live in your city, they can;t afford to buy things in your city.
That article is hilarious. Tourists complaining of rain in November. "The post cards were all sunny!" Yeah, they were all taken in the summer, idiot. Do some research before you travel somewhere.
