Miami Vice was the absolute king of the musical interlude in their shows, mainly because it was the first true MTV Generation TV show where the cinematography was almost as important as the plot.

In the air tonight was brilliant and stirring and added onto an already great song.

When I played football, I remember before a city championship game, while everyone else was listening to metal tunes on the Walkman's to get ready for the game, I was listening to "In the Air Tonight" there was just something that caused me to want to create maximum violence when I listened to the song tonight. Maybe it was the primal drum beat. Or Phil Collin's screaming "Oh Lord".

But I would visualize every tackle that I was going to make, and seeing the QB's eyes get as big as dinner plates when he saw me coming out of the corner of his eyes.

Later on it was replace by "Games without Frontiers" by Peter Gabriel. I was a weird kid, but that song really got me going when I played football and hockey.
