Default new List - Best Musical performance in a TV Episode

Ok, I'll admit it every once in a while the Captain loves a good musical performance in a TV series. First of all because its usually a surprise when you see the cast members of your favorite TV series breaking into song and second of all because its almost like taking a breath during a TV series with the unexpected. So this weeks list features cast members breaking into song, and I'm not picking a whole episode but a performance.

1) Buffy - Walk Through the Fire.

The musical episode Once More with Feeling was the book end to Hush, the all silent episode. In this story a musical demo comes to Sunnydale and kills with Song. It also turns out that the songs reveal truths about Buffy and Willow and Tara and Giles. But "Walk Through the fire" was probably the best song pf the episode as Buffy and the Scooby Gang head towards the final confrontation. What made this episode strong was the casting of Broadway Star Hinton Battle as the Demon.

2) Chuck - Jeffster

I loved Chuck, which was a spy series with really strong background characters. But two of the most background characters were Jeff and Lester, two burnouts working at the electronic store. You could really take the their story and make a show about a failing lame rock band, but they created Jeffster a cover band. From their start with "Africa" to a really good version of "Leaving on a Jet Plane" to their performance of "Fat Bottom Girls" at Comic Com they added a twist to cover songs.

3) Troy McClure's Planet of the Apes Musical

The Simpsons have used musical numbers before, but the really bad planet of the apes musical stands out as both terrible and awesome at the same time.

4) Michael Jackson appears on the Simpsons

Another Simpson's moment when a mental patient who thinks he's Michael Jackson stays at the Simpsons and makes Bart do something nice for his sister Lisa on her birthday.

5) Scrubs - My Musical - Dr Cox's Rant

Scrubs did a brilliant musical episode and Dr Cox's snaps and does a musical rant that was awesome

6) Lindsey McDonald sings on Angel

Lindsey was an evil lawyer for the evil law firm of Wolfram in Heart who was never really interested in redemption but in destruction in the end. But at one point he was in conflict and at the Y in the road where he could do the right thing or keep doing the wrong thing. So he shows at at to be read via song by Lorne. He pulls out his guitar and shows his talent. I couldn't find a good clip of the show, but here's the song

So what are some of your favorite performances?
