I also think the rationale behind Nenshi's support is the ability to obtain funds from the province and the feds for the city. The arena is pure city money.
Also, i would argue the studies for the benefits of a winter olympic games are a bit more "positive", or at worst, inclusive, as opposed to arena studies which are pretty conclusive.
However, i certainly disagree with Nenshi's support on the olympics and i too question his reasoning on this and its relation to the arena.
