Not very long. He was good within 20 games and stayed that way.
And reading that wiki page I don't see any resemblance in their style of play, yet. Our Sam is no defensive force. I guess we tried to bring that out in him but after 1+ season of experimentation it's time to move on from hope of developing him into an elite centre.
Sam's killer instinct seems to be related only to the Flames having to kill more penalties when he takes bad penalties (although he has been better lately).
