This is department of player SAFETY. NHL players are grown men. The department regularly ignores plays that cause serious injuries, dirty plays, much dirtier than Tkachuk tapping Wittkowski on the shinpad as he's escorted off the ice. Crosby, Chara and Marchand have gotten away with murder. And Tkachuk gets a game for...goading? Making Wittkowski angry and the officials therefore being unable to control the game? The Flames would be fined as a club, the coach would be fined, Mantha and Howard would be suspended if they had pulled this crap in retribution in a blow-out game. It's an absolute joke.
