Flames paying Lack as $1.375 million for one year then UFA while Carolina retains the equivalent amount.
So Lack gives us a goalie with very comparable numbers to Johnson (though slightly worse across the board) but at half the price.
That's probably the reason we went with Lack but I still miss Johnson and, without looking too closely at the Flames overall cap situation, thought he was a very good option for backup last year and could've been this year.
