well for one, not everyone can afford to buy lots of awesome toys and junk.
and for those that can, maybe Christmas and raising their kids means more than lots of junk.
kids have too much crap to begin with. better to broaden their horizons and teach them something, and give great memories.
I respect those that dial back on too many toys and are travelling with their children.
