Watching the video again, Abdelkader's helmet doesn't come off until the refs jump in. Also, Brouwer doesn't actually get any face shots in unless he was throwing hooks from behind, which it doesn't look like either. The shots were directly to the back of the head, like you said, but his helmet remain on. Unless Brouwer was punching at the neck/base of the skull, Brouwer was getting all helmet.

Another thing, I can't see where Brouwer would have been able to fracture Justin's cheek.bone in that fight unless he was throwing hooks from behind to the side of the face. If that's actually the case, then your being bothered from hits to the back of the head aren't warranted because they perhaps weren't actually happening but the angle we get to see from give that impression that he was hitting him in the back of the head.. but I could be wrong.
But being wrong about that pint doesn't matter because the helmet stayed on until the refs jumped in.

Lastly, perhaps Abdelkader should turtle if he's going to try and start ****.
