Rather than #### specifically on any one aspect of the opening, I will suggest that the Flames opening is symptomatic of their larger failings of in-game presentation.
It is so over the top in cheeseball theatrics. The wrestling fans out there will understand this reference: it is a series of cheap pops. It's CJ92 with some corporate stampede branding. It's so transparent for both it's cheapness and it's pandering.
It's one of those things where I really wonder: Do Calgarians of today actually enjoy this? Is this getting positive feedback from seasons ticket holders? Is their audience that captive?
I don't know anything about George Canyon, but I can tell you from watching him for what, the last season and a half?, I get the sincere impression of insincerity from the whole production.
I think that's actually a significant contributor to the library atmosphere. The game presentation is boring.
