While I agree something needs to be done, screaming "GUN CONTROL" simplifies a ridiculously complex situation, again, in a country where guns are part of daily life and a basic right of citizens. Like I said, it is beyond complex and it is a situation that isn't as easy as "BOO NRA - BAN GUNS" like many make it out to be.



I'm sure there are plenty of cases where you could point to the loopholes (gun show, background check, resale) where there has been evil perpetrated. But I would just point to the trend of Van/Truck attacks lately and emphasize that evil will find a way to do evil, regardless of laws. We could institute rigorous background checks for Home Depot truck rentals, which may have prevented the NYC truck attack, but the guy would have found another way.

So do nothing?
