This is way beyond a gun problem. Why the F do people decide to go out in a blaze of glory so often? It permeates the whole society with the prevalence of violence in movies, video games, the fetishization of weapons and the military, increasing incivility, I could go on. Unfortunately we in Canada share most of the same media and culture so I worry we will head down the same path, albeit more slowly. The one big difference is our attitude towards guns, which generally negative both personally and political. I would fight anyone who wants to make our gun laws more liberal as it's a slippery slope to greater acceptance and normality.
