if you are interested in reffing, you could try getting in touch with hockey Calgary, and see what you need to do there to get certified to do some reffing.
the higher your certification, the more money you can make. I believe for younger kids it is something like $25 for an hour. you could likely have some scheduling flexibility as there are games all over, during week nights and weekends, and if you really liked it, you could move up the reffing ranks an work AAA games.
I think the key to having a PT to supplement your income is finding the right job. something that is close to your house or FT job (who wants to spend time in traffic going to someplace far away).
