And given our tire fire of a "fourth line" not infrequently gets more ice time than our third, focusing on the top nine doesn't really carry much value. Particularly given Bennett himself hasn't exactly shown he should be in the top nine.
The point, of course, is that we hamstrung ourselves by keeping an unnecessary plug in Glass when we already have Stajan and Brouwer. Jagr's presence pushes Brouwer down, while Jankowski's presence shifts Bennett to the left side, which in turn pushes Glass out. It also gives us options to switch those bottom two lines around as needed depending on how well any of those players are running. All of this makes the Flames better from day one than the roster that was actually constructed did.

Yeah you can focus on my reaction to a pretty off side comment, or you can look in the mirror. I guess you made your choice.
And I agree ... I think the team is better with Jankowski on it. For sure.
But I don't think they want to move that quickly on unproven players and I think they wanted to see Bennett at center to start the season.
