That article was written Dougie's very first month as a Flame. Looks like the Flames actually tried to acquire Freddie the season prior.
I don't doubt the Hamilton's were extremely happy to play together. But I still find it ridiculous that some people actually believe that one of Dougie's stipulations to signing here was that Freddie HAD to be here.
And rumors are just that: rumors. More often than not they are bunk and fabricated by the very people who are looking to create something to talk about.
