I can see why these things are fun, but running back 30 years in an organization that has had what 6 GMs in that time frame is sort of useless.

Sutter Era
Adam Pardy
Alexander Deilert
Dion Phaneuf
Gaelan Patterson
Gord Baldwin
Joey Leach
John Negrin
John Ramage
Keith Aulie
Myles Rumsey
T.J. Brodie
Tim Erixon
Tim Ramholt

13 defensemen in 8 years, two made an impact, one was a no brainer

Feaster Era
Brett Kulak
Eric Roy
John Gilmour
Keegan Kanzig
Patrick Sieloff
Rushan Rafikov
Ryan Culkin
Tyler Wotherspoon

8 defensemen in 3 years, two still in the dance, no top fours

Treliving Era (harder to judge)
Adam Fox
Adam Ollas-Mattsson
Brandon Hickey
Juuso Valimaki
Oliver Kylington
Rasmus Andersson
Riley Bruce
Stepan Falkovsky

8 defenseman in 4 years, 4 considered good prospects, two others still prospects.

The Flames historically haven't gone to dmen enough if you ask me. 25 selected out of 104 players in 15 years which is just under 25% when Dmen make up 33% of the guys on the ice five on five.

Sutter especially avoided dmen like the plague
