It seems to me that in your mind wins are on the players and losses are on the coach.
Why, in your mind, is the team record after the 10-game win streak more significant than the 10-game win streak?
This season the team is 6-6; not terrible, not great.
You've pointed to Mike Smith's SV% as a reason why they won some games they shouldn't have. However, the team is shooting at 6.23% while league average is 8.11%. Shouldn't that help explain why they've lost some game they should have won?
The team is 7th in corsi for, 9th in shots for and 25th in shooting percentage. Those stats suggest to me that it's not a systems issue and therefore not a coaching issue.
If the Flames were shooting at a league average on even strength they would have 23-24 goals rather than 18. Is that a result of coaching?
The shooting percentage will eventually turn around. The team won't have a PK running at 33% forever. These are statistical anomalies that will eventually get ironed out.
