is Hollywood that effed that kids are hanging with "random" adults? I go to watch my kid at hockey practice, and yeah sometimes I leave the rink to run errands - but if the coach wanted to hang out with him, I'd be asking some questions or saying yeah - the three of us can hang whenever......

I want to stress I am not blaming the kid - I am wondering why the kid was exposed to this situation - what is the parents role in this?
Private lessons with a coach. Teacher one on ones. Rides to rinks. Room checks on the road. Even team parties where parents/coaches and kids are in the same house or what have you. Dressing rooms in general. When you think about there are lots of opportunities for this type of stuff to happen in most industries. I think it's more prevalent in entertainment (sports included) because there is the assumption that veteran members of the industry can help you or your kid move up and parents can become blinded by the success (or potential) no different than the kids.
