I agree with you. Truthfully i'm disapointed that Bennett appears to have lost his confidence as he didn't strike me as that type when he was drafted and all during his first season, but then again, it happens to the most confident, even Maverick lost his.
I hate to praise the Canucks for anything, but Travis Green was questioned a bit at the beginning of the season when he criticized Horvat for his play despite playing well and praised Baertschi despite playing poorly, but I think Green just understands his players very well, especially Baertschi who is a mental midget and needs to be cuddled and have sunshine blown up his ass all the time. Pains me to mention Bennett in the same breath as Baertschi, but sometimes these young kids just need some love.
As for his play specifically, in my mind, Bennett needs to attack the net with reckless abandon. That is what 18 year old Sam Bennett did. Every single shift, he took the puck hard to the net and crashed it. I can't recall seeing him anywhere near the net this season.
