Not that I am cheering for this as I'm honestly not a settled voter any which way necessarily, but just wait and see after the April-June 2018 timeframe how happy the general public is with the NDP.

That's when I believe those PPA / power agreements will have finally terminated (March 2018) and the cost of power generation from Transalta's Sundance sites will render those uneconomic. As far as I understand and I am by no means an expert here (so maybe somebody else weigh in here?), but again from what I have read spot prices for electricity are going to double (triple?), and everybody's power bills will obviously significantly rise.

I suspect there'll be a lot of bitching about the NDP there, and I do wonder if that will be the hammer for them come election time- even though theoretically they seem to be "trying to do the right thing" by pushing a conversion of power generation from coal to natural gas as the input.
