I could fit that into my budget. I’ve also sat in the “press” level (nose bleed!) seats a few times and it can be more fun there than any cushy club seat. I do appreciate that even a night out there with family can add up in a real hurry.

I'm not sure he a) understands that 1200 a season is a lot of money for a large percentage of calgarians; and b) tickets in the bleeds for a family of 4, with food can add up to 2-300 dollars.
This part also bothered me:

The impact of the Flames is everywhere:

The Hotchkiss Brain Institute – Healthy Brains for Better Lives
The Libin Cardiovascular Institute – Heart research, education, and care
Edwards family Neonatal intensive care unit – Alberta Children’s Hospital
Rotary Flames House – supporting families facing the death of a terminally ill child
Flames Community Arenas
Seaman Stadium
Riddell Library and Learning Centre – Mount Royal University
Without disputing that the Flames organization and owners contribute immense amounts of time and financial support to numerous causes, it's dangerous to start trying to argue that the impact of the charitable giving of successful businessmen who own the Flames is the same as the impact of the Flames. It's almost as if to suggest absent having the Flames here, our business and community leaders like those mentioned above would not be charitable, which I think is kind of a negative thing to suggest and kind of offensive to them. Only those items above highlighted in red are specifically tied to the Flames, and in the case of the community arenas, it's disingenuous to suggest that's an "impact" as it was part of their cheap deal with the City for the Saddledome. The rest are very generous donations made by wealthy Calgarians and really don't have much to do with the Flames at all.
