I don't understand where this comes from. I'm pretty sure if Treliving actually had interest in Boudreau and wanted to hire him that the owners would have spent the money. Sure they probably wouldn't have gone nuts and paid Babcock $50 million but I don't think there's ever been any proof to indicate they won't pay for a top tier coach. Gulutzan was hired because he's the guy that he wanted, not because he commanded less money.
