Do we worry too much about shots, both for and against? We keep hearing that we're allowing too many shots against for what is considered a top defense in this league, yet the Flames only allow 1.3 SA/GP more (34.8) than the average of the top 5 teams. The Flames allow exactly as many shots against as the Lightning, a team considered by many to be a Stanley Cup contender this year.
This post would have been better served in a thread on the subject, but I glossed over a couple pages and didn't see a suitable thread for it. Meh.

IMO yes!
Shot count is way too subjective and downright bias in many buildings (LA).
It has only gotten worse since PDO became fashionable.
