Maatta is off to a great start but he struggled last season and can be inconsistent. He is also a lefty and would be behind Giordano and Brodie on the depth chart. It's a close call but I'd rather have a potential 3rd line centre in Jankowski over a 3rd pairing Dman.

Not at all. Vasilevskiy is looking like a star. With the benefit of hindsight the only move better than taking Jankowski would have been to not trade down and take the goalie. It's funny though because there likely would have been even more uproar drafting a Russian goal tender.
