I understand the need to play Ferland on the top line to start the year but he may be the kind of guy that needs to build himself and his play up slowly each year. Last year, he played mostly on the bottom two lines and played great for a while on the 4th line with Freddie and Hathaway. When called up to the top line he was white hot. Maybe we should let him get his game going on the bottom 2 lines and if needed when he plays well try him on a top line to see if you can get a good offensive streak out of him.
