Yeah back in 02-03 when I lived in McKenzie Lake, I'd take the rush hour express bus, the 103 I think, at 7:02 am. Take that downtown and then hop on the C-Train for the rest of the jaunt. It took less than an hour usually and if I got on at one of the earlier stops, I could grab a seat and sleep the 35-40 minutes to downtown. Coming home is a bit trickier since you'll have to be downtown at specific times to catch it and you likely won't get a seat.
Anyway, that was 15 years ago so maybe you'll have to research some variation of this strategy.
