One particular play I've noticed at least twice in every game so far is the stupid slap-shot pass from behind our net, ringing around the boards to the winger waiting at the far blue line.
It rarely, if ever works and I think it's just high risk, low reward.
I'm not opposed to stretch passes to a player who is skating thru neutral ice, but I much prefer crisp short passes when exiting the defensive zone.
On offense, I would literally just encourage players to put at least 10% more shots on net and hope for a scramble. Not pretty, but guys like Bennett could benefit from those plays, and Tkachuk effing excels at it.
