I have the same question. I live in Bowness and am getting tired of trekking to Pro Skate in Marda Loop every time I need a sharpening. Plus I don't like the elitist attitude you get there every time I have a question about my skates.

Any suggestions for the West-Northwest? Crowchild Arena is a decent idea. Anyone else go there?
Being very bias here but I work at Sports Rent and we do a very good job. Currently the least experienced guy who will sharpen customer skates has been sharpening for 5 years now, the rest of us are in the 15-35 years of sharpening experience. Cost is $5 including tax although we may finally raise the price in the next month or so, it's been over 8 years since the last time we raised the price of a sharpen. We also have sharpen cards available for 10 sharpens for $40.

Even if you don't go to us I always recommend avoiding the places like Sport Chek. Turnover rate is just too high to get consistent training and experience to do a proper job on your skates.
