Need to see the first one? No, not really. I went with two friends who hadn’t seen it and both of them got everything. This movie is self contained enough that seeing the first one only adds to the experience, the experience doesn’t depend on it.
Needless nudity? Uh, no, I don’t know what Itse is complaining about. Watching the two on back to back nights there was nothing that in that’s realm that felt entirely gratuitous or out of place. If anything, the nudity in 2049 made more sense as it actually added to the context of the future world. There are breasts in this film. Female breasts, in the (Few) scenes their in, it makes sense and isn’t remotely gratuitous. I think adults can handle it.
