Lol @ being intellectually dishonest. The Flames can draft in the top 10 just like every other team, but they certainly have not demonstrated any ability to develop players.
Our draft record would certainly suggest that Gaudreau was a fluke of a pick. As for Giordano, the Flames are so bad at developing players that they initially let him go.
So that leaves Brodie and Backlund, one of which is a first rounder and took 10 years to develop only to miss his draft-time potential and the other a #2 D at best but no doubt is evidence that the Flames have successfully developed a player at least once.
