Perhaps my wishful thinking but I see the following dominoes currently falling (there is no way VGK are going to play 2 defensemen on 4th line going forward, they have only 10 forwards on roster right now!):

1. Flames signal they are signing Jagr -DONE

2. Brouwer realizes that he now destined to have no PP time and play only 4RW minutes this year as a result. - DONE

3. Brouwer waives his NTC in the first two years of his contract so he can play somewhere with top 9 minutes as part of a trade. VGK is perfect option - HAPPENING NOW

4. McPhee then puts Stoner on IR to hide him for now while deal is worked out to avoid injury and make LGK compliant for 23 man roster today. Curiously I find no injury reports on Stoner anywhere on internet -DONE

5. Treliving and McPhee sit down and work out a deal that involves swapping one of their seven 3LD (Stoner) for Brouwer + something (either retained salary or prospect or both). Mason McDonald? Hopefully not David Rittich? We have more goalie prospects than minor league spots. Might need to sweeten further with a Hunter Shinkaruk or other forward prospect. -ONGOING NOW

6. Brouwer trade is made official- CP rejoices!

7. Flames then signs Jagr officially. - Jersey websites crash from spike in jersey sales

8. BT wins surprise mayoral election victory as a write in ballot candidate.
