How hard is HFOil going to freak out when Treliving gets Jagr in Calgary for dirt cheap over the next day or two?

I would be pretty damn cross, given our winger weakness. I just don't know how you can look at our current roster and be satisfied.

It's not the Oilers most pressing need but it would be nice if Chia sniped him from the Flames as opposed to what usually happens.

Jagr would have been so good with Drai and Lucic. That line could have dominated pacific opponents cycling down low. Just 2M eh...geez.

It baffles me that one GM in Alberta is doing what he can to improve his team and the other is taking the Tambellini route. We traded away Eberle for Strome (yuck), lost Sekera to injury for who knows how long, and signed Jokinen. That's... not good enough. On paper that team won't win the division or beat the Ducks in the playoffs.

I always get a kick out of the way this thread melts down every single time the Flames sign anyone at all.

I don't care that Jagr signed with the Flames but I just hate for how little of a salary it was.
hopes he hits none of his bonuses.

That Grandpa Jagr is a better option than much of what we currently have at RW is a further indictment of Chia's work this summer.

Alot of sour grapes here. If the Oilers signed Jagr, there would be a ton of excitement.

Excluding Draisaitl (who should be 2C), our RW depth includes a rookie, a sophomore, Kassian, and Strome. There was absolutely room to bring in Jagr, and at the dollars and term, it made sense. He was a possession darling, and bulk of his points were on EV.

The blue line is also a mess, with Chiarelli having done nothing to improve it.

Lets start calling a spade a spade.

Sign Iginla. It's the only thing that makes sense.

This game is mental as well as physical. To see the beloved son of Red in the Oilers orange and blue will surely burn every single flames fan. Not to mention their coaching staff, brad wizard and BB. I mean, we're talking about a mental warfare this game has never seen, perhaps ever before. The flames are going to stop playing as they cannot bear this injustice.

Besides, Iginla signing with the Oilers is the last straw. After that, you could pretty much guarantee that the flames will re-locate to Seattle.
