In regards to Engelland.
George McPhee was on hockey central earlier today and was asked about who is emerging as the "face of the franchise" type of player. He said he didn't want anything like that necessarily and that the logo would serve that purpose for now. He then elaborated that he wanted more of a leadership group to emerge and said that has happened. He specifically mentioned Engelland, Fleury, and Perron as those guys. Engelland is going to play a big role on that club this year, no question about it. That doesn't mean he will be playing 20 minutes a night etc, just that the dressing room is his and a couple other vets. He has also been doing a ton of stuff in the community as a team rep.
The one other thing McPhee said is that he is starting to return calls from other GM's in regards to moving one of the plethora of Dmen they still have in camp. So he will be making a deal, but it most certainly wont be Engelland.
I wonder if Treliving is eyeing one of the Vegas guys to fill that 6 role?
