Frontline documentaries on PBS. The good thing (in addition to them being commercial free) is that if you miss one it can be viewed in it's entirety

Along those same lines,
Charlie Rose is a great source of discussion of current events. It's mainly political/world events, but he regularly has entertainers on for much more indepth interviews than you'll see anywhere else. And again, it's one hour completely commercial free.
