Paul Byron was 26 when he got claimed. Poirier is 22 and while I think he is not getting claimed I wouldn't be shocked if a team that coveted him in the draft might consider taking a chance? The kid had a great start to his pro careeer and his step back is for a specific reason which has been rectified. If an NHL team believes in him and has room in their forward ranks they may take a chance?
Really the only teams I would think even consider it would be the Habs/Sens (watched him a lot in jr and the Habs were rumored to like him at the draft) or the Canucks (Weisbroad)
Having said all of that is is unlikely he gets claimed and the Flames probably waive him tomorrow
