I agree with this. I think it is the same situation it was with Bennett where the Flames staff want him to focus on whats important and not worry about being a hero. They know he has the ability but he just has to play well within the system "and when he is ready", he will step up just as we have seen with Backlund or likely Bennett this season. BT has mentioned on occasion that he does not want new players feeling like they need to be a hero and save the team. Last season Bennett seemed more intent on focusing on his role at center but was given the go ahead when he got to the playoffs; That is why we saw a different Bennett in the post season. I think we are seeing certain newer players eased in by design.
