Should Tanner Glass get a contract?
Before you answer, put all the memes and pre-conceived notions of Glass' career behind you.
Has Tanner Glass earned a contract through his display in camp? In my opinion, it's 50/50. I think he's shown more than Hathaway, and could be a good character guy for the dressing room. I feel that ever since Engelland was selected by Vegas, the Flames have lacked a commanding presence in scrums, one which Glass could provide. I think that Glass is also a better player overall than a guy like Luke Gazdic.
One of the reasons that Rangers fans hate Glass so much is that Vigneault would play him all season for over 10 minutes a night. But the Flames have six contract spots open and Glass wouldn't be paid the high salary that necessitated his staying in the lineup in New York. For one year on a two-way, league minimum deal, would signing Tanner Glass be a good idea for rough-and-tumble games and/or the playoffs, when needed?
If a mod could add a poll, that'd be neat.
